This morning, Friday 3/26/2010 I read in Jerry Seib’s piece in the Wall Street Journal, that just after Defense Secretary Gates left Afghanistan, Ahmadinejad of Iran came to Kabul for a visit and was warmly received by Hamid Karzai and called the Iranians his “brothers” and stood by without uttering a sound as Ahmadinejad publicly suggested that American soldiers –you know- the ones fighting, bleeding, and dying to keep Karzai in power, had no business being in Afghanistan in the first place.

I am retired from the military so I am probably not as smart as say, Robert Gates, or Hillary Clinton, or any of those other towering mental giants to be found in the halls of government, but answer me this oh enlightened ones; what are we accomplishing by having our young men and women in uniform over there getting blown up by IEDs or getting shot by these rag-heads every day.

Your idiotic rules of engagement gets kids killed, or worse yet, court martialed for trying to do the job with one hand tied behind their back!

The latest word is our casualty rate for January, February, and March is double what it was for the same period in 2009.

Do any of you boobs know what the hell you are doing?

Here is a good one for you, a guy by the name of George Gavrilis, who is a fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, argued in a paper last year that Iran has actually behaved responsibly toward Afghanistan.

“ Iran works furiously to protect its large border with Afghanistan, responds to unrest in its border provinces with an iron fist, and avoids major intrigues in Kabul” he wrote in the aforementioned paper.

Is that opposed to minor intrigues, which I assume are different than major ones?

The diplomatic folks need to come down out of the isolation of the ivory tower they are living in, pull their head out of whatever orifice they have it buried in, take off the rose colored glasses and look at the real world through the eyes of the men and women who have to fight the war that is created by scatterbrained politicians WHO, BY THE WAY, are several thousand miles removed from the battlefield and harms way.

Unfortunately that will probably never happen since Barry still thinks he is the smartest guy in the room when, in point of fact, he couldn’t find his skinny butt with both hands and a map, and the addition of a fifteen man search party would still leave that issue in grave doubt.
