One headline read "Mourners salute Kennedy, He was such a GOOD man.

I have no doubt he had his good points, but I do not intend to overlook his obvious flaws of character  while everyone seems to want to eulogize him as if he were some sort of hero/saint.

The man was kicked out of Harvard for cheating, the Army refused to commission him (same reason I believe), he enlisted and mistakenly signed up for four years, but daddy got that reduced down to two years and made sure he was posted to Europe instead of Korea (the war was still going on). He achieved the lofty rank of PFC while serving in the honor guard at SHAPE HQ.

He had a well publicized and long running love affair with the bottle, and was a well known womanizer, including the infamous Chappaquiddick incident, in which a young woman drowned and Ted swam away.

He voted for immigration AMNESTY, and voted against English as the national language among other things. His voting record was always way left of liberal, which leads me to believe that he cared less about the country and more about himself, than his friends and acquaintances would have us believe. He has been pushing for a single payer health care bill since the 1970s, which in the end would be government run health care.

Now enter Senator Chris Dodd, this is the same Chris Dodd whose wife sits on the boards of four very large health care companies (for which she is WELL paid), who used to be one of Kennedy's drinking and carousing buddies, who just today said; "We need to pass this healthcare reform in memory of Ted Kennedy, because this was the most important thing he ever tried to accomplish during his career, we need to do this for HIM".

Sorry that is not a good enough reason. Scrap this thousand-page gobbledy gook bill which no one understands and start over, there is no need for speed, slow down already
