Isn't it a little strange that the folks who write the tax laws don't seem to be the same ones who pay the taxes.

It is a helluva lot easier to raise taxes if you don't personally have to pay them.

A great example is Charlie Rangle, the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, you know, the committee that writes our tax laws.

Goodtime Charlie evidently feels he is above the law and doesn't have to pay taxes.

Back in 1987, Charlie bought a rental property at the Punta Cana Yacht Club in the Dominican Republic. This property is a luxury beach front villa, and goes for $1,100.00 per night.

I'm sure it was a mere oversight that Goodtime Charlie did not list $75,000.00 worth of income from said property. At first he said he thought his wife was managing the property (oh sure), and when that didn't work, he tried to blame the language barrier, "Every time I thought I was getting somewhere, they would start talking Spanish".

Charlie was quoted as saying; "I never had any idea that I got any income from the villa".

If that is true oh ROTUND ONE, why did you buy a rental property?

He has more problems with other properties, and is being investigated by the House Ethics Committee on six different items (you get the idea).

Then there is Timothy Giethner the Secretary of the Treasury, who forgot to declare some $45,000.00 in back taxes, and Tom Daschel who owed $120,000.00, and would probably never have paid it but he got nominated for a cabinet post, and that let the cat out of the bag, and he had to withdraw because of that little oversight.

Question; How the devil can you overlook $120,000.00?

Oh, by the way, Charlie Rangle promised way last fall to amend his tax return and pay what is due, but May 15 has come and gone, and as of last week he still hasn't coughed up the bucks (according to the WSJ).

Question; How much do you suppose the vig is on Charlie's $75,000.00. or Daschel's $120,000.00?

If they were into the wiseguys for that kind of dough, they would be using two canes to walk (due to broken kneecaps), that is if they were walking and talking.

We as a people have been too easy on these bums, they belong in a jail cell, but with the House Ethics Committee investigating, nothing will come of it, because that is like letting the fox guard the hen house.

All of these sleaze bags in Washington have got to go, they are bad enough, but I say shame on the American people who keep re-electing these bums over and over again.

Ferret face Waxman D-CA, has been in congress for 30 years, that is 15 elections. My G-d what are these people thinking.

Chuck Schumer (don't get between him and a TV camera) has been in Washington since 1980, they are like hogs at a feeding trough, you can't fill them up they want more and more they are like a bottomless pit.

Robert KKK Byrd D-WV, has been in Washington for 50 years, and is known as the king of pork. If you go to West Virginia, almost every official building or bridge or library, is named for this Ganef.

I thought seeing as how you will be facing higher tax bills if these crooks get their way, you might like to see how these Washington elites are hosing you, while they continue feathering their own nest and living high on the hog.
