 In the last days of the Hoover administration and the early days of Roosevelt's New Deal, the Senate Banking and Currency committee lead by Ferdinand Pecora (the chief counsel of the committee), held hearings and investigated the causes of the "Great Depression".

This committee (known as the Pecora Hearings) proved that the underlying reasons for the 1929 crash of the stock market and the ensuing "Geat Depression" turned out to be various fraudulent schemes and other financial abuses and con games (HAS ANYTHING CHANGED?).

Congress in its questionable wisdom has decided to revisit history by forming just such a committee of ten members with full subpoena powers and a mandate to report just what lead to our financial institutions collapsing as they have, and give recommendations on how to prevent it from happening again (Psst hey buddy, you wanna buy a bridge?).

There is an easy answer you Boneheads, if you have no money in the bank, don't write a check, and stop giving yourself a pay raise every time you turn around, if we can't pay the bills we sure as hell can't afford raises for a bunch of incompetent Boobs. You people couldn't find your way to the outhouse with a seeing eye dog.

GIVE YOURSELVES A PAY CUT, 50 % IS A GOOD START!

The head of this committee will be none other than the former California State Treasurer Phil Angelides. These California folks really have a lot of expertise at handling money as evidenced by their current financial situation.

Senate Majority leader Harry Reid D-Nev., has appointed two Las Vegans to this committee, Heather Murren, a former Wall Street financial manager and co-founder of the Nevada Cancer Institute, and Byron Georgion, a bussiness attorney and an expert on corporate governance.

Oh, by the way, this committee is supposedly bipartisan.

Har de Har Har Har!

Let me enlighten you BOOBS, Congress spends the money not the President, and the last time I looked, the Democrats have been the majority party since 2007. Does that ring any bells in your empty heads?

Instead of growing government, lets start weeding the garden, starting with the Department of Energy, founded 32 years ago under Jimmy "BOOB" Carter, it has not done what it was mandated to do (get us off foreign oil). It has quadrupled in size and has failed miserably, then we could reduce the size of the IRS and go to a flat tax (with no loopholes), next how about the Department of Education? Give that resonsibility back to the states where education really begins (and for G-d sake get rid of the National Education Association).

I am sure we could, if we look, find a lot more cuts that could be made to reduce the size and cost of this fire breathing dragon we call the Federal Government, before it devours us all.
